Sundays at 9:00 and 10:30 AM
Most people dress in whatever is comfortable, from jeans to business casual. Others will wear a jacket and tie, so if dressing up is more your style, that's great, too.
Our worship services typically last an hour and include music, prayer, and a sermon. You'll find that our services combine both traditional and modern elements. At time, music will be led by a choir and organ. Other times, music will be led by an ensemble with guitar and piano. We also use liturgy and recite the Lord's Prayer. Once a month, we share in the sacrament of Holy Communion. All are welcome to receive communion. All are invited to taste and see that the Lord is good.
We have several options for Children on Sunday mornings. We offer a nursery for 3 year olds and younger at both services. Babies may be checked in at one of our child check-in stations and taken to the nursery prior to the 9:00 or 10:30 services. At our 9:00 service, we offer Children’s Church for children ages PreK -2nd grade. Children that wish to go to Children’s Church should be checked in and taken into the service with their family. They will stay for the first few minutes and then will be asked to come forward in order to exit for Children’s Church downstairs. Children going to Children’s Church can be picked up in room 106 following the service. Children are always welcome to stay in any of our worship services.
At our 10:30 service we offer Sunday School for children PreK-6th grade. All children should be checked in and taken to their classroom prior to the 10:30 service. PreK-Kindergarten are on the first floor in room 106 and 1st- 6th graders are on the 3rdfloor in Room 300. Children should be picked up from their classroom following to the worship service.
There are many things for students to do on Sunday mornings.
Students are always welcome to worship with us at our 9:00 or 10:30 service. From 10:00-10:30 we provide a light breakfast for students in The Cross Cafe on the 4th floor. From 10:30-11:30 we offer youth Sunday school on the 4th floor.
Students are also invited to serve on Sundays. Many of our youth serve with our welcome team, our children’s ministry team, or our tech & media team.
There is so much more to First Methodist Church than Sunday worship. If you want to get connected within our church and grow as a follower of Jesus we encourage you to get involved in two areas outside of Sunday worship. Make one a place to grow and the other a place to serve.
